With this tool-set, the user can easily create new railroad networks at his own discretion which meet the requirements of his simulation tasks. The user is provided with a high degree of flexibility and he can act independently of the database manufacturer. Each database can be extended individually with signalling, power lines and various 3D features (e.g. buildings).

The granularity of the database tiles varies and includes the following types:

rural sections (single/dual track)
urban sections (single/dual track)
switches/branches

VIRES maintains and permanently extends the tile library according to customer requests and according to our own ideas. By this, the system gets more powerful with each release. Our experience with custom-designed databases - usually geo-specific or geo-typical - directly influences the on-going development of the tile libraries and the editor.
